Innscor Africa Limited’s Empower Tomorrow initiative extends its reach into healthcare, providing critical support to local clinics and healthcare services in underserved regions. Recognizing the essential role that health infrastructure plays in fostering sustainable development, the initiative invests in improving access to healthcare for the communities where it operates, particularly in rural Zimbabwe.
Through Empower Tomorrow, Innscor provides funding and logistical support to healthcare facilities, ensuring that these clinics have the resources they need to deliver vital services. For instance, the initiative has made significant contributions to the transportation of medical supplies and healthcare workers in remote areas. In 2022, Innscor worked closely with the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) and the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) to maintain the infrastructure necessary for clinics to operate effectively, providing transport and diesel to keep these services running.
One of the standout elements of the healthcare support program is the provision of on-site health services to employees working on Innscor’s farms. By employing health workers to serve directly within these agricultural communities, Empower Tomorrow ensures that farmworkers and their families have timely access to medical care, reducing the burden on overextended rural clinics. This initiative not only supports the health and well-being of Innscor’s employees but also contributes to the overall health infrastructure of rural Zimbabwe, where healthcare services are often sparse.
Additionally, Empower Tomorrow is focused on health education, helping communities learn about disease prevention, maternal health, and child welfare.
